Hi everybody and Happy Father’s Day — if you are one or just happen to know one. Far too many American kids have no father in the home, and the results from that big experiment are now obvious.
This is a very brief post to announce the release of the movie trailer for my passion endeavor: The Len Babb Movie Project. Sam Pyke and I have been hard at work waking up too early, going to bed too late, filming, editing, spitballing, desperately seeking coffee in the remotest corners of the American outback, and also having a terrific time meeting new people, hearing new stories, and learning how to make this film.
So, without further introduction, here it is. With one call to action: please consider contributing if you have the coin. As my last post attempted to make humor of, before — well, you know — this is my first dive into filmmaking, and I’m learning that budgets are the big beast. Videography this good costs money, and to continue we are going to need it.
While this story is carried on Len’s shoulders it is also the story of a resilient community of people passing hard-won legacies down through generations, of community and cooperation, of abiding faith, and of friendships.
This is only the first step in a long process of making this film, because like all things buckaroo we have to follow the seasons to get the footage — but I hope after this that you get a feel for where we are headed, and most of all I hope you enjoy this and feel at least a little want to see the feature film.
