Good podcast.
I’ve had a lot of interesting listening today. I listen an adaption of one of Fritz Leiber’s Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser stories. Also listen to this interesting podcast about the second world war at the art of manliness…

Thx for the link on that.

Cowboy excellent!!
This sets a high bar and one for posterity
Len is humbly great and greatly humble.
I have to get used to the voices having heard them for the first time. Craig’s mellow easy tone and Jim’s excellent radio voice. Well done all around with an impressive guest. A good un’ right out of the chute. My preferred format. Animated, lively and informative. Great for the 18 wheel ride out to Perris , CA for a northbound load. Great selection of a closing out song too!! Thoroughly enjoyed every minute!!!

Thanks ST — that’s great to hear.

Well done! Great format. Great sound. Absolutely great guest! I really enjoyed the discussion I learned a lot. I found myself searching for paintings and songs as the conversation went along. Time well spent. Thank you!
Thx Jim. So glad you enjoyed. Our next guest is a fascinating guy too. Really done some amazing things. Stay tuned!

Jim,
Just in case this got by you. Fretboard Journal’s interviewed Dave Alvin & Jimmie Dale Gilmore for their 200th podcast. As with all things good one or more of these run through it; Indians, cowboys, frontiersman and music. As one who holds writing in highest esteem, there is an awful lot to be said for audio and video. A different persona comes out. Another layer of appreciation. This was evident with your inaugural podcast. Fretboard Journal hit their 200th podcast here and I hope you are hot on their trail. Dave & Jimmie Dale take in about half the broadcast here and there are many gems to pickup. I was lucky to get home when Downey To Lubbock showed up in the mail and I got to test drive it. A stylistically diverse offering, but Billy The Kid & Geronimo remains my favorite song on the album. Of course, Dave’s hot licks and Jimmie Dale’s flatland hightone whine course through it all. Not sure what criteria qualifies for guests on your and Craig’s podcasts but my guess is that musical guests will find a way in even if they have to sing for their supper…

Orland Sun Devils. Tough team back in the day. Those north central CA boys come big and strong. Even if they are flatlanders. ?

Thanks for the warning Craig.
I will sleep with one eye open tonight.
A helluva good launch for the podcast. Nice work! So much to be said, but this packed a good punch for only having an hour to get it done. Hearing the wit and wisdom of Len Babb goes without saying but bringing up “Teddy Blue” alone made it worthwhile for me. I combine Zen and Cowboy logic as a damn good approach to life. Teddy Blue got to live it and Will Rogers even went so far as to go to South America to escape the encroaching barbed wire. You get your Indian and Cowboy all in one package with Will. As for most of us we make do with what we have and like Len try to imagine living a Charles Russell life in the one we’ve got if only in spirit. Well, before I become a windy Bill, I better stir the dust and vamanos.
Best of luck with future broadcasts. I’m hooked…
I’ll fire that up today.

You and your team are off to a great start and not even one technical problem on the listener’s side. I look forward to a wide range of guests on a wide range of topics. Respectful unfiltered discussion is one of best things about a podcast. You guys look great, it would be nice to see you and your guests during the podcast at some point, but a great product regardless.
Keep it up and best success!
Some video podcasting is definitely in order. Thanks much for the well-wishes and gold you enjoyed No. 1. Pretty pleased with it.
